Hey MSU a...

Hey MSU and former MSU people... does anyone know how to file a complaint about an instructor? Because I'll be damned if I'm going to fail this damn class because you never know if she'll be there or not, and she never show's up when she says she's going to. I don't even know what the fuck is going on in that class right now (nor do 99% of my classmates). It sure doesn't sit well when she sends a mass e-mail to us threatening to fail us all (or at least give us "bad grades") because none of us were there when she finally showed up last Wednesday (we waited for 45 goddamned minutes lady...)*sigh* Well... we'll see how it goes today. We're supposed to go do "research" at the library today.

1) Find out if your University has a Dean of Students, or Academic Committee that handles problems like that, or someone in student services that can help direct you to the person you need to talk to.2) Print out the email as part of 'evidence' and go talk to them. 3) If you have more than one person to lodge the complaint and also to back up anything there is to tell about lack of attendance by the instructor, it can really help (i.e. other pissed off classmates. At my college, an instructor got fired for racism when half the class lodged a complaint about him targeting one student.)

Angelforlife had a great idea; the Chairperson of the Art Department is also a quick fix. Find out who it is from the website; she/he probably has an office listing and email address, depending on which you're inclined to use. I'd write a strongly worded letter and cc it to everyone who could make a difference. I would also talk to the teacher first, but that's spoken as a teacher who would be devestated to receive notice that one of my students had ratted on me without talking to me first...Good luck!

The Ombudsman or the Chair of your department is where to start.
